Samuel C. Weaver
Sam Weaver is Professor of Finance at Lehigh University, where he has served on the full-time faculty since 1998 and as an adjunct professor since 1986. He has also served as the Director of Lehigh’s MBA and Professional Education program. Prior to joining the Lehigh faculty, Dr. Weaver held a variety of senior management roles with Hershey Foods Corporation, most recently the position of Director of Financial Planning and Analysis.
Dr. Weaver is the author of three books, Finance and Accounting for Non-Financial Managers, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Strategic Financial Management: Applications of Corporate Finance. He has published in numerous leading academic and practitioner journals, has contributed chapters to five books, and has been featured in numerous textbooks discussing applications of corporate finance. Dr. Weaver has served as an associate editor for three journals and is a regular reviewer of articles for financial publications. His work has been presented at numerous professional conferences and he has organized and chaired the Financial Management Association’s Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis roundtables. Dr. Weaver is also a serving member of the Board of Regents of the Institute of Management Accountants. His current research focuses on the areas of corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and financial performance measurement.
In addition to his academic duties and activities on behalf of the finance and accounting profession, Dr. Weaver provides professional education, seminars, financial analysis, valuation, and expert testimony consulting services to businesses and law firms. His clients range in size from small business owners to Fortune 200 companies, and have included Ingersoll-Rand, Lehigh Cement (a Heidelberg Cement Division), The Colomer Group, Mallinckrodt Baker, Inc., Centris Consulting, Hershey Foods, the Manufacturing Leadership Institute, and various law firms.
